The GED Essay

The GED essay can be one of the most intimidating parts of the essay. People stare at the blank piece of paper and essay prompt and wonder what the heck they are supposed to do. This podcast goes over what the essay is, what the expectations are, and how to actually write a passing essay.

p.s. One of the most common questions people ask about the essay is "How long does it have to be?" The recommended length is 250-350 words, but it is not mandatory. They are looking for a 5-paragraph essay with well-developed paragraphs. They do NOT count words.

Welcome

Welcome to the blog. My name is Tim Trussler, and I am a GED instructor at Bates Technical College. This blog is designed for people who are trying to get their GED. It will contain both written posts and podcasts. My goal is to help out those of you who want answers to some of the basic questions about getting your GED, such as what's on the test and how is it scored. Please look around and feel free to leave comments and feedback.
